Volt is hiring a Manufacturing Project Engineer to work with our client onsite in Wellsboro, PA in a Direct Hire opportunity.
As the Manufacturing Project Engineer, you will;
- Work with Tooling & Product Design Engineers on new products.
- Determine and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
- Act as manufacturing representative on cross functional New Product Implementation Teams.
- Lead corrective action teams.
- Determine, implement, and update PM programs for new and existing processing equipment.
- Create and update manufacturing process documentation.
- Work with Quality Engineers and Manufacturing management team on quality improvements.
- Prepare capital funding requests as required.
- Troubleshoot and eliminate control systems issues and handle controls projects.
- Develop new control and monitoring systems confirming to ISA and CSI standards.
- Interface with equipment vendors and contractors.
- Develop and document new PLC control systems from concept to qualification.
- Understand process control issues and develop control solutions.
- Troubleshoot problems with current PLC control systems, wiring and PLC / SCADA logic.
- Reply to downtime events impacting Production.
- Develop assumptions for router and quote development for new and existing products (both cycle time and equipment).
This is a full-time, DIRECT HIRE opportunity. Relocation assistance offered.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Technology degree is preferred with knowledge of automation.
- Candidate must have 5+ years engineering experience with automation and programming Fanuc 6 axis robots.
- Material handling systems both bulk and batch.
- Experience with Robotic system design, programming, and troubleshooting (FANUC / ABB preferred).
- Experience with PLC based control systems (Allen Bradley & Yaskawa preferred).
- Experience with conveyors, vibratory feeders, and part separators.
- Experience with Lean, TPM and Six Sigma manufacturing principles.
- Working knowledge of APQP tools & techniques (Process flow, PFMEA, Control Plans)
- Collaborate with engineering/operations to develop data/analytics methods to gain insights into the process and improve scrap, cost, quality and productivity.
Salary: $85-90K annually *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
