Used Car Manager

Peter Boulware Toyota of Columbia is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Used Car Manager. As the Used Car Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our pre-owned vehicle inventory, sales, and wholesale. This is a full-time, individual contributor role within the auto industry, located in West Columbia, South Carolina.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the pre-owned vehicle inventory, ensuring it is well-stocked, priced competitively, and merchandised effectively
• Lead and motivate a team of sales and support staff to achieve individual and dealership sales goals
• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase used car sales and profitability
• Monitor and analyze market trends and competition to make informed pricing and inventory decisions
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by demonstrating excellent customer service skills and resolving any issues or complaints
• Collaborate with the finance department to secure financing for customers and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently
• Oversee the trade-in process, ensuring fair and accurate appraisals and timely processing of all trade-in vehicles
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, working closely with the service department for reconditioning and preparation of vehicles for sale
• Train and coach sales staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and dealership policies and procedures
• Collaborate with advertising and marketing team to effectively promote the dealership's pre-owned vehicles
• Ensure compliance with all dealership and legal requirements, including safety and EEOC guidelines

Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in automotive sales, with a proven track record of success
• Prior experience in a management or supervisory role preferred
• Thorough understanding of the automotive sales process, including financing and trade-ins
• Familiar with V-auto and Eleads preferably as well as wholesale
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and dealership management software
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
