Location: Malone Outpatient Clinic - Malone, NY

 

Position: Full-time Vocational Education Rehabilitation Specialist

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm 

 

Pay Range: $18.00/hour to $22.00/hour 


Position Summary: Provides Services towards the development of appropriate and functional workplace skills, attitudes, and behaviors for clients of all ability levels where barriers to employment exist.

 

Education and Training: Minimum of B.S. Degree in Human Services or related field and minimum of three years as a Voc/Ed Counselor or related work area. QHP preferred.

 

Experience and Work Knowledge: Experience working with Substance Abusers and prior vocational Education Counseling experience. Vocational rehabilitation experience preferred.

 

Physical Demands: No extraordinary physical demands

 

Essential Duties:                    


  • Conduct and interpret comprehensive vocational education assessments.
  • Develop measurable treatment plans based in initial and ongoing assessment.
  • Initiate weekly progress notes and treatment plan review notes that clearly documents all treatment received.
  • Conduct vocational education group sessions.
  • Conduct Individual Alcohol/Chemical Dependency Counseling, as appropriate.
  • Build a strong network of other service providers in both Franklin & Essex Counties.
  • Maintains statistics and outcome measurement on client improved employment status, education, and training.
  • Reports data from both counties to OASAS.
  • As needed, provides transportation services to vocational education clients.
  • Provide follow up services for vocational education clients for a period of six months post attainment of client employment.
  • Develop a network of employers in both Franklin and Essex Counties to access vocational education clients in obtaining employment.
  • Develops and oversees Voc Ed budgets for both counties.
  • Maintains satisfaction surveys on vocational education services delivered to clientele. Competes surveys on an annual basis.
  • Actively participates in meetings, committees, and quality assurance activities.
  • Responsible for additional duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Provides supervision and oversight to all Voc Ed activities in Franklin and Essex Counties.
  • Responsible for compliance with Federal, State, and CARF Standards and regulations.
