Description:

The Manager or Senior Manager Product Management – Cell Therapy is responsible for managing the lifecycle of MaxCyte's electroporation platforms in cell therapy applications and for portfolio growth and business performance. Oversees the Company's current and future product and service offerings to support Cell Therapy research and development, as well as clinical manufacturing and bioprocessing. Crafts product strategies, develops and executes product roadmaps, spearheads new product introductions, manages product lifecycles, and delivers an exceptional customer experience. The responsibilities include overseeing the new product planning and introduction process, including market research, competitive analysis, forecasting, product development, and launch strategies. The candidate must be a strong collaborator who has experience in deriving insights from customers, partnering with cross-functional teams, and defining products and features that meet the needs of our customers.


Work Location: MaxCyte's Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland.

  • Develops and communicates a comprehensive product roadmap that is aligned with customer needs and strategic objectives
  • Leads sound business proposals through the New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) process from concept to commercialization
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet milestones and ensures timely product launches with a high level of quality
  • Conducts market research to quantify the size of the addressable market
  • Collects Voice of Customer (VOC) and identifies product needs, features, and applications
  • Collaborates with R&D and Engineering to establish unmet needs, translates to design specifications, and assists in validation activities
  • Understands competitive landscape, integrates business needs into the product and ensures key claims are in the marketing plan
  • Works with finance to develop financial forecast models
  • Develops comprehensive marketing plans, including value proposition, messaging, key claims, customer segmentation and targeting, pricing strategy and evidence-based strategy
  • Conducts in-depth market research to understand key growth drivers, assesses market size and share, identifies market trends, and evaluates competitive positioning
  • Maintains a deep understanding of customer needs, goals, challenges, and workflows and brings VOC and market requirements to internal teams
  • Collaborates with the commercial leadership team to support sales activities, generates sales support collaterals, provides product and segment training, and contribute to sales enablement initiatives
  • Drives applications development initiatives to support commercial team's technical needs
  • Assesses feasibility and market potential of innovative concepts, providing recommendations for investment or further development
  • Stays updated on emerging trends, breakthroughs, and competitive developments in the cell therapy market
  • Supports internal business development efforts
  • Complies with all applicable policies regarding health, safety, and the environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences with at least 5 years of product management or product marketing experience in life sciences or equivalent; MBA or PhD preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in Cell Therapy development, manufacturing, tools, platforms and regulatory landscape
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the biological drug discovery and development process
  • Successful track record in leading and aligning on strategic product roadmap to develop short- and long-term visions
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop, and implement multi-dimensional commercial strategies and successful marketing plans
  • Strong strategic development skills, able to analyze complex data and identify key insights, opportunities, and risks
  • Strong analytical and business acumen; ability to understand financial analysis and its impact on business
  • Evidence of excellence in project management, effectively managing competing priorities
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members
  • Strong leadership and communication skills able to influence all levels cross-functionally
