Specimen Accessioner - Full-time / Part-time

Our client, a multinational medical device company is seeking a Specimen Accessioner to join their team. As Specimen Accessioner, you will be part of the process of receiving and documenting specimens (such as urine, blood, hair, etc.) that are submitted for drug testing. The accessioning position plays a crucial role in the initial processing of specimens in a drug testing lab, ensuring that they are properly identified, documented, and prepared for analysis.

Location: Santa Rosa, CA

Pay Range: $18.00/hr
 

What’s the Job?

• Receiving incoming specimens from clients or collection sites.
• Verifying the accuracy of specimen labels and paperwork.
• Recording essential information about each specimen, such as the date and time received, the type of specimen, and any relevant chain of custody details.
• Ensuring proper storage and handling of specimens to maintain their integrity.
• Preparing specimens for analysis by labeling them appropriately and organizing them for testing.

What’s Needed?

• Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Typing at least 35 WPM
• Attention to detail is crucial for accurately documenting and labeling specimens.
• The ability to stand for long periods, lift and move heavy objects, and dexterity for handling specimens and operating laboratory equipment
