SERVICE AND APPLICATIONS ENGINEER - LASER PRODUCTS
JOB PURPOSE:
Nikon Metrology is seeking a motivated Service and Applications Engineer to be directly involved in field service, installation, and repair of Laser Radar Systems and applicable accessory equipment for Nikon Metrology Laser Products.

HQ - Brighton, MI

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Will include, but not limited to the following:
- Support Nikon Metrology contract services opportunities for Laser Radar Systems which include assessing customer requirements for Laser Radar programs and custom programming.
- Implementation and training of programming product.
- Electrical and mechanical Laser Radar System services and preventative maintenance at factory or in the field at customer sites.
- Perform new system installations including calibration.
- Perform Laser Radar field upgrades.
- Timely completion of weekly paperwork including time sheets, service reports, expense reports, calibration reports
ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform on-site customer maintenance training.
- Act as point of contact for dealer support and training
- Trade show support; set up/ tear down equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Min. 2-year technical degree or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic to strong electrical aptitude including soldering skills.
- General computer office software skills.
- Effective customer communication skills.
- Willing to train motivated individual.
Desirable
- Prior experience or working knowledge of metrology equipment preferred.
- Experience performing contract inspection services.
- Customer facing sales support and customer service.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to travel up to 60-70% domestic and international.
- Must be able to adapt to customer location.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
