Forklift Mechanic

Reports To: Technical Manager

Summary/Objective

The Forklift Truck Mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks used throughout the facility.

Essential Functions

The essential functions of this position include but not limited to: (Sunny Delight Beverage retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.)

1. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.

2. Comply with Sunny Delight Beverage’s policies and procedures.

3. Inspects forklift truck fleet to ensure trucks are working properly and safely.

4. Maintain, troubleshoot and repair other Automated, semi-automated and Manuel systems in the facility.

5. First point of contact for all maintenance activities required by any MANUAL FORKLIFT and the automatic battery exchange system.

6. Execute and track all required MANUAL FORKLIFT PM’s (basic forklift mechanical PM’s and advanced automation system PM’s)

7. Execute and track all required Automatic Battery Exchange system PM’s

8. Logs maintenance completed on a day-to-day basis.

9. Daily Check List Creation and Completion & System Reporting

10. Communicates maintenance items that may impact the productivity of the MANUAL FORKLIFT system to appropriate warehouse/operations leadership.

11. Reviews the daily MANUAL FORKLIFT fault logs/history to determine any required maintenance to MANUAL FORKLIFTS to increase performance and eliminate lost productivity.

12. Identifies and tracks on-going MANUAL FORKLIFT technical issues. Eliminating to root cause when possible and bringing in external resources as required.

13. Tracks usage of storeroom parts and manages monthly spending versus a budget

14. Works with Storeroom leader to return any damaged components for analysis or warranty claims

15. Provides training to operations on proper operation and use of MANUAL FORKLIFT’S (once fully qualified on the MANUAL FORKLIFTS)

16. Provide the support required in resolving any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise through troubleshooting expertise.

17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Leadership:

• Day-to-day management of the /MANUAL FORKLIFT maintenance system

o Supervising the work of any subcontractors

• Communicates with warehouse leadership and operators for full understanding of any issues or items that impact MANUAL FORKLIFT maintenance.

• Ability to Train other personnel

• Ensures that operations and work complies with system design

Training Requirements:

• Completion of forklift truck mechanics training course license required.

• CAT Forklift Maintenance Certification

• Forklift Maintenance Certification

QUALIFICATIONS

• REQUIRED

o High School diploma

o 3+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

o Strong technical knowledge related to the field of manufacturing.

o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

o Excellent communication.

o Ability to write reports.

o Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or customers.

o Demonstrated Leadership Skills.

o Strong organizational skills.

o Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

o Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.

o 2+ years forklift experience.

o Proficient in Microsoft Office.
