Job SummaryAn Electrical & Instrumentation Technician will be a member of the HTI Maintenance Department in the Electrical & Instrumentation Group. As a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Technician the main requirements will be to have a working knowledge of several electrical & instrumentation tasks and exercise them with a low level of supervision.Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and maintain a variety of instruments and control systems
- Troubleshoot and repair instruments and control systems in the field
- Perform high voltage and low voltage electrical work as required
- Fabricate, assemble, and install instrument panels and control cabinets
- Program and configure distributed control systems (DCS)
- Interpret and revise AutoCAD drawings for use in the field
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent certificate – reading, writing and math skills are required
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Instrument Technician or similar role
- Experience with boilers, blowers, air, and hydrogen compressors is a plus
- A high level of technical expertise in instrument calibration, repair, and maintenance
Required SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in working with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 & 70E
- Familiarity with distributed control systems (DCS) is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve instrument issues
- General Electric Certificate or equivalent
- Formal Electrical Safety training
- Acquire a comprehensive knowledge in the use of the hand tools required to perform Electrical & Instrumentation Group tasks
- Ability to assess equipment for problems and demonstrate solutions for fixing
- Ability to demonstrate all technical requirements listed above and to document those requirements through written procedures
- Customer Service skills, be detailed-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.

- Take responsibility for the sustainability of Axens and protecting the environment
- Report any and all environmental concerns or incidents to your manager
- Maintain awareness, proactively participate and support all Axens policies regarding environmental protection
