Job Description
Position Impact and Purpose…
The Community Nourishment Specialist is responsible for driving the Mobile Food Pantry to food desert areas of Pike County three (3) days a week. This position will report to the Social Services Program Liaison. This position is responsible for tracking clients that use the local food pantry or mobile pantry.
Essential Functions…
Functional Area:

Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations
· Responsible for face-to-face client interviews to determine eligibility
· Responsible for tracking clients that use the food pantry or mobile food pantry
· Responsible for establishing and maintaining customer files
· Responsible for maintaining the inventory of the food pantry or mobile pantry
· Responsible for answering the telephone courteously and professionally, routing calls to the appropriate staff, and taking messages when necessary
· Supervision of volunteer workers
· Responsible for ordering food items for both food pantry and mobile pantry
· Responsible for assisting in planning and implementation of CSFP Program
· Responsible for assisting building relationships with Senior population
· Responsible for assisting with completion of CSFP initiatives
· Responsible for assisting with CSFP pantry track data entry
· Responsible for assisting in prevention of duplication of services
· Responsible for assisting that CSFP boxes distributed via the Senior Center will not be transferred
· Responsible for attending meetings required by the Free Store Food Bank Staff

· Attend meetings, conferences, and trainings sessions related to the duties of this position and disseminate acquired information to appropriate individuals inside and outside the agency
· Must be able to drive a food truck 3 to 4 times a week to remote food desert areas of Pike County
· Perform clerical tasks such as typing, filing, faxing, mailing, etc.
· Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, not in conflict with the employee’s policies and procedures
· Assist in establishing a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with Safety Policies and Procedures
· Assist with the daily operations of food or mobile pantry: customer service, unloading food truck, stocking shelves, etc.
· Must be able to lift forty (40) pounds
· Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to do multiple tasks at one given time
Minimum Requirements…
Education:
High school or equivalent
Job-Related Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of clerical/office experience
People Management Experience:

Preferred Qualifications…
Knowledge of surrounding area and available social service resources
Drive a food truck 3 to 4 times per week to remote food desert areas of Pike County.
Working Conditions…
Position is located within the Social Services Program of the agency with their own desk and computer equipment. Three (3) days a week this staff person will be out in the community with the Mobile Food Pantry to help distribute foods. Work is fast paced at times and involves multiple, sometimes competing priorities and the management of complex project details. Can involve moderate-to-high levels of stress. Housing programs, funds, and guidelines change frequently.
