Description:

Overall: Develops patterns from 1st design to production approval.

Essential Functions:

1. Works closely with Designer and / or Product Manager to develop product vision and determine core requirements.

a. Develop patterns from 1st pattern to production approval.

b. Adjust fit to Designer specifications and through Fit Sessions.

c. Develop precise and well-constructed, FULLY GRADED patterns.

d. Determines the best layout of pattern pieces to minimize waste of material, and mark fabric accordingly.

e. Complete preliminary yields for costing purposes.

f. Upload final pattern and measurement sheets to PLM use in global operations.

2. Ability to measure garments and patterns to ensure quality at manufacturing facilities.

3. Work with Sourcing and Quality Managers to ensure a garment made with quality construction.

4. Works closely with sample makers to create fit samples and to give direction on sample construction.

5. Meets product development deadlines and schedules.

6. Ensures the integrity and security of the product blocks, master samples, and master patterns

7. Provides training and guidance to junior level personnel.

8. Stays abreast of industry trends, changes to pattern making software programs, fabric and garment construction.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Associates degree in fashion design, pattern making and product development or equivalent experience.

2. Seven or more years demonstrated pattern making experience in an apparel company, to include experience with knits and wovens. Background and experience must include garment construction and grading knowledge and technical design experience.

3. Background and experience must include experience with Optitex CAD software.

4. Experience in using a PLM platform to hold all data relevant to the manufacturing process.

5. Thorough understanding of pattern-making process & fit/styling on live model.

6. Good verbal and written communication skills.

7. Good organization skills.

8. PC knowledge to include intermediate use of Outlook, Excel and Word.

9. Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

10. Ability to work in a team environment.


Physical Requirements:

Occasional lifting of 10 pounds or less (less than 15% of the time) generally at waist level, some above/below waist, none above shoulders. Must be able to do seated work at computer or other related machine for extended periods of time. Requires standing up for 10% of the time. Some use of computer required. During fittings, may stand, bend and stoop for short bursts, over longer periods of time (5%).




Compensation details: 80000-85000 Hourly Wage
