Overview

As a Sales Administrative Assistant, you will act as liaison between MEC and our customers. You will assist in the quote process, new part launch, and sales reporting. In addition, you will assist in various sales and marketing clerical activities.

Responsibilities
    Manage Quote Process, New Product Set-up and New Customer Set-up.
  • Provide support to sales staff for creation of Requests for Quotes. Pull information from customer portals for quoting. Coordinate delivery of customer drawings for Engineering, Estimating, and/or Purchasing (for S/C services and purchased parts).
  • Work with Accounting and Customer to set-up new customers, credit accounts, bill-to's, and ship-to's, and any invoicing problem and tooling invoicing.
  • Process purchase orders. Review incoming purchase orders for accuracy; verify price and initiate discrete sales orders. Initiates Order Change Notices as required. Acknowledge price back to customer. Forwards customer concerns to Sales Engineer for review. Expedite orders as required. Coordinate acceptance with Engineering if prototype or sample to assure readiness to "want date".
  • Initiate or respond to customer inquiries and phone calls as assigned.
  • Manage revision change process as requested by Sales Engineer, including receiving new prints or pulling new prints from a customer web page, checking system for open orders -- advising if orders need changing, and processing re-quotes, when necessary.
  • Follow-up on escalated pricing problems.
  • Identify parts associated with end of life. Coordinates disposition of obsolete parts and arranges for the disposal of tools, jigs, fixtures, components and raw materials.
  • Manage sales reports, pricing reports, expired quotes, customer raw material adjustments, and other miscellaneous reports for Sales Management.
  • Supports various paperwork requirements including completion of forms, general typing, photocopying, faxing, filing, and scanning.
  • Customize Sales Presentations as needed.
  • May be asked to act as a back-up for order related activities for Planners.
  • May be requested to visit customer at direction of Project Engineers to perform above mentioned tasks.
  • Assists the Sales Engineer in technical correspondence. Works with customers to resolve invoice errors. Covers for Sales Engineers in their absence or when overloaded.
Qualifications

A minimum of a high school diploma, and a minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing environment in a sales representative position or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and or prior customer service experience is a plus.
