General Laborer
Peoplelink Staffing Solutions, in partnership with a prominent steel manufacturer in the Woodstock, AL area, is seeking general laborers to join their team! This is a non-climate controlled facility offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing!
General Laborer Job Summary:
- Pay: $15.00 an hour
- Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift: 4:00 am to 12:30 pm
- 2nd Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (subject to change)
- Operate overhead crane to relocate parts
- Operate a forklift to relocate materials
- Meet daily goals through teamwork and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform all general laborer tasks and assignments in a safe and timely manner
- Ensure equipment and workstations are cleaned daily
- Support and communicate with Team Leaders on a daily basis
- Maintain housekeeping to 5S standards
- Participate in team and safety meetings and promote safety within the workplace
- Support company values and goals to establish a world class organization
- Cross train in other jobs as needed to fulfill production demands
- Comply with all safety rules and guidance, as well as report all recognized hazards
- Maintain good attendance in compliance with the Attendance & Punctuality Policy
- All other duties as assigned
- Read a tape measure accurately
- Production environment
- Traversing around production floor
- Standing for long periods of time
- Repetitive motions
- Lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Overtime and weekend work as needed
General Laborer Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills - fractions & decimals
- Attention to detail and ability to detect quality defects
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and follow detailed work instructions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- 1 year of forklift operator experience
