What We Manufacture and Sell:

Axiota's non-antibiotic solutions prepare cattle for times of transition and stress and support producers' goals of optimal health, performance, and animal well-being.

Role Overview:

Perform and supervise research projects supporting Axiota's Research and Discovery efforts.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Develop/write experimental design and protocols for R&D projects.
• Direct and perform experiments according to protocol.
• Supervise R&D personnel performing experiments in a laboratory or production scale.
• Monitor laboratory activities and implement process improvements to ensure compliance and quality with internal and external standards.
• Enter, process, and analyze data in excel.
• Update protocols, write conclusions, and formulate ideas for follow up experiments.
• Assist laboratory personnel in trouble shooting out of specification results and guide to make appropriate corrections.
• Verify accurate, up to date and concise laboratory records of current experiments, results, media prep documentation, etc.
• Capable of producing necessary records for audit trail of current and past R&D experiments.
• Perform general microbiological duties when needed including glassware, instrument, and media preparation in accordance with standard procedures and under sterile/anaerobic conditions.
• Assist/supervise implementation of R&D technologies in the production process.
• Compile results into reports when needed.
• Perform literature search.
• Assist others in learning new technics or instruments.
• SOPs writing/editing and keeping the laboratories compliant to regulations.

Skills/Qualifications:

• M.S. (or B.S. + 3-5 yrs experience) with major in Microbiology, Biology, or related field.
• Experience or understanding of anaerobic fermentation process.
• Experience in microbiology techniques.
• Detail oriented, organized, precise, and accurate.
• Pays strict attention to direction given for task completion.
• Strong multi-tasking skills/ Ability to work autonomously.
• Strong interpersonal skills both inside and outside of the organization.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic.
• Desire to exceed expectations by displaying a strong sense of ownership.
