Summary:
Provide support of Environmental Health and Safety standards and programs across ITRCC.
Relationships:- Directly reports to the EH&S Manager.
- Works collaboratively with all ITRCC employees, Local, State and Federal regulatory officials, contractors, and consultants.
- Performs all tasks safely, complies with all internal and external safety requirements, supports ITRCC safety culture, attends all safety trainings and completes all compliance trainings as required by ITRCC.
- Uphold ITRCC’s core values: Customer Service, Respect, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork (CREST).
- Provides leadership and support the culture of safety in all ITRCC activities.
- Supports the EH&S team in development, implementation, monitoring and improvements of ITRCC EH&S Programs, ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements.
- Conducts investigations and root cause analysis. Makes recommendations to resolutions, corrective actions and preventative improvements opportunities.
- Maintains various reporting systems and provide environmental and safety analysis as required for reporting.
- Maintains EH&S Files and records.
- Assist in development of technical documents including EH&S Procedures, programs and guidance documents.
- Participates in safety committee meetings.
- Assists in the development of and conducts team meetings, safety orientations, and contractor / ITRCC safety training.
- May respond to emergency situations during or after hours at the direction of the EH&S Manager for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
- Regular reliable attendance.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Post-secondary education (preferred, but not required)
- 3-5 years’ experience in a direct safety related role
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills both written and orally, must be very detail orientated
- Proficient computer skills, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
Desirable Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in Environmental, Health and Safety Role
- OSHA, MUTCD, IMUTCD, NIMS, TIMS, ATSSA, IDEM, IDHS, MS4, SARA, CRTK experience
- First aid / CPR certified
Working Conditions:
- This position requires: (Frequent est. 5 hrs per shift)
- Frequent Standing, Walking and Sitting.
- Frequent Talking and Hearing.
- Moderate Physical Effort.
- Heavy Computer usage.
- Travel time required may be up to 10%.
