Job Title: Cook

Classification: Hourly

Department: Food and Beverage

Reports To: Executive Chef

The Bistro Cook is responsible for the production of high-quality food products at a cost level consistent with management objectives.

Essential Functions:

1.) Adhere to hotel cooking standards to maintain a high quality of food and service on a consistent basis.

2.) Follow hotel standard recipes for all dishes to insure portion control and uniformity of quality and taste.

3.) Reviews in advance, all banquet function sheets as prepared by the Sales Office.

4.) Maintains security and safety in the kitchen.

5.) Makes suggestions to the Executive Chef concerning improvements in the kitchen which would enhance guest satisfaction and, at the same time, maintain payroll and food costs requirements.

6.) Ensure that the high standard of sanitation and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen and dumpster area at all times.

7.) Assists the Executive Chefin taking the end-of-month inventories.

8.) Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.

9.) And all other duties as assisgned.

Minimum Requirements: Restaurant line cook experience preferred

Work Environment: this job operates in a kitchen environment, house with equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef's knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds of less. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
