Camp Cormorant - Camp Lifeguard

For over 100 years, YMCA Camp Cormorant has offered spirit, tradition, leadership, and exceptional facilities to campers. Founded in 1903, Camp Cormorant is one of the oldest overnight camps in the entire nation. The camp is nestled on 80 acres of wooded property with an extensive beachfront on Big Cormorant Lake. We are located approximately six miles south of Lake Park, MN, in the heart of Minnesota lakes country. The YMCA Camp Cormorant offers more than just a job - we offer the chance to make a lasting difference for the youth in our community!

Camp Lifeguard: The Camp Lifeguard will plan swimming activities at the camp's waterfront. This position will deliver swim activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper's age and abilities and will assist in the management of the physical operation of the waterfront's facilities and equipment.

2024 Camp Schedule:

• June 3-7 - Training
• June 9-14 - Week One (All Staff)
• June 16-21 - Week Two (All Staff)
• June 23-28 - Kamp KACE (No Cabin Counselors, Junior Counselors, or CITs)
• July 1-5 - OFF
• July 7-12 - Week Three (All Staff)
• July 14-19 - Week Four (All Staff)
• July 21-26 - Week Five (All Staff)
• July 28-Aug 2 - Week Six (All Staff)
• August 2-4 - Family Camp Weekend (Select Staff)
• August 4-9 - Week Seven (All Staff)
• August 11-16 - Week Eight (All Staff)

Pay & Benefits: This position pays $400/week. You will be paid a weekly rate of pay and paid bi-weekly. Free room and board at the camp - you will need to live at Camp Cormorant!

Qualifications:

• Prior to campers coming to camp: Complete the MN Boating Safety Course (online)
• At least 18 years old
• 6 months experience working with youth
• Lifeguard Certification
• CPR Certification for Adult, Infant, and Child
• First Aid Certification
• Current driver's license and YMCA insurance-approved driving record
