Maintenance

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of a hotel maintenance technician is the hotel's upkeep and ensuring that the hotel interior and exterior are properly maintained and repaired. They inspect the hotel to ensure it is in good running order.

Primary Job Duties:

1. Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on premises.
3. Inspect and repair various energy systems, such as the heating and cooling systems, plumbing, lighting, and kitchen equipment.
4. Assist with repairing floors, doors, and roofs.
5. Install new products, windows, toilets, carpets, and light fixtures.
6. Repaint walls, fix broken furniture, and handle leaks in bathrooms.
7. Repair electrical and mechanical equipment such as fans and air conditioners.
8. Conduct maintenance and repair tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, changing light bulbs, and fixing faucets.
9. Check the functionality of safety systems such as fire alarms and cameras.
10. Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
11. Lubricate, clean, and inspect equipment, machines, or tools.
12. Perform cleaning activities such as dusting and mopping.
13. Perform general cleaning tasks inside and outside the hotel's building.
14. Collaborate with other professionals during renovations.
15. Take care of plumbing, electrical, or structural problems.
16. Inspect public areas daily in case of problems arising unexpectedly.
17. Act fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g. power outages)
18. Work with the front desk manager and housekeeping manager to discuss any aspect of operations involving the maintenance department.
19. Assist in remodeling and construction of new projects as may be required.
20. Keep all mechanical areas in a neat and orderly condition.
21. Engage in flexible work schedules to be able to perform well during emergencies.

Requirements and Skills:

1. A vocational training certificate or degree in mechanical, plumbing, architectural, or electronics fields with two or more years of practical and theoretical experience in maintenance.
2. Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, and hotel industry experience is a plus
3. Basic knowledge of navigating computers
4. Experience using hand and electrical tools
5. Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to kneel, bend, carry, walk, stoop, climb, and lift items, in addition to possessing manual skills
8. Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods
