Job Description
Forklift Operator / Material Handler
Summary:
- A Pennwood Products' forklift operator will have training in proper operation of a forklift, be expected to physically be able to move on and off the forklift for material handling, banding and inventory control. Previous certification is beneficial. All Pennwood Products' forklift operators MUST complete the company's own certification prior to operating a forklift. Additional training on material management procedures is also required.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Completion of Pennwood Products' Forklift Certification
- Completion of Pennwood Products' Material Management Training
- Moving of material from the Rough Mill to the Moulding department; moving to/from other areas as requested.
- Accurate use of inventory tools to ensure materials are managed
- Assistance in staging and bunking material
- Ensuring material is secure prior to movement
- Communicating with Department personnel
- Daily maintenance checks on equipment
- Safe use of equipment while moving throughout the Pennwood Campus
Additional duties required:
- All other duties, as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to Read for inventory and labeling purposes
Working Conditions:
- Inside and outside work environment.
- Moderate noise level
- Frequent lifting of at least 40 lbs.
- Proper use of PPE expected: Hand, eye and hearing protection when required
