Job Description

Aksa Power Generation USA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team in Conroe, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a Quality Management System and leading the facility to become ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certified. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with various departments to assess risks, provide training, and implement proactive measures to ensure top quality performance in Manufacturing, and enhance the overall health and safety culture within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Is the management representative on site responsible for the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, the ISO 14001 Health and Safety Management System, and the ISO 45001 Environmental Management System.
  • Lead/conduct internal quality audits to drive improvement and maintain all ISO certifications and registrations.
  • Is the management representative on site responsible for audits by external registrars in support of all ISO registrations.
  • Drive and monitor the required actions based on the audit activity listed above.
  • Monitor and maintain active and effective document control systems in support of the QMS and effective/efficient operation.
  • Develops and implements a vendor qualification procedure in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Lead vendor and sub-contractor audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Provides and conducts training on all ISO systems for Aksa employees, subcontractors, and vendors as required.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of a quality system handbook.
  • Prepares new procedures and instructions for all ISO systems, and revises and distributes as needed.
  • Monitors and reports on product non-conformances and lead all investigations to root cause to eliminate reoccurrence.
  • Develop and implement a risk management procedure in accordance with ISO requirements.
  • Perform risk assessments and identifies business, quality, environmental, and safety risks and reports those to management.
  • Leads a quarterly management review in accordance with ISO requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports for management on the status of ISO related quality, health and safety, and environmental issues.
  • Leads all Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and monitors progress to completion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by General Manager.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
Regardless of other duties, has a responsibility to follow Aksa Power Generation USA’s production, safety, and quality procedures.

REQUIREMENTS
  1. Education and Training – Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field. May be substituted with relevant experience as deemed acceptable by Aksa Management.
  2. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is highly desired.
  3. Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is highly desirable.
  4. In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal regulations.
  5. Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate safety concepts to individuals at all levels of the organization.
  8. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence positive change.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Ability to think critically and develop effective solutions to complex Quality, HSE, and Environmental challenges.
  12. Physical Requirements – Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
  13. Experience – At least five years’ experience or as deemed sufficient by management.
  14. Technical Requirements – Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships. Comfortable with collecting, analyzing and interpreting data. Solid judgment with ability to make good decisions. Working knowledge of safety codes, OSHA regulations, EPA and TCEQ regulations, and other regulatory agencies.

The person identified in this Job Description is accountable for all Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental related requirements and activities at the Aksa Power Generation USA facility in Conroe, Texas.
