Job Summary: 

As a Retail Intern, you will be directly submerged in the workings of the Ranger Station (our retail store).  You will have hands-on experience working with guests in a resort setting.  You will be working closely with management on the daily operations of our store, while learning about our products and services that we offer.  You will also take part in the end-of-day responsibilities, along with the required paperwork. You will gain practical experience with the financial side of breaking down drawers, counting money, etc..  You will work closely with our Guest Services Manager and Assistant Ranger Station Supervisor and retail team to provide support and assistance, as well as to help develop and implement new strategies for improving retail processes and guest experience. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide a guest experience that aids in enhancing one’s stay. We like our team members to imagine themselves as; “Memory makers are WOW creators”. 
  • Assist in enhancing our theme weekends by introducing specials or designing end caps and decorating the Ranger Station for the week's theme. 
  • Customer Service: Interns must be able to assist customers with their inquiries, complaints, and purchases. 
  • Product Knowledge: A retail intern will learn about the main products and services offered by the resort. Interns should be able to answer questions about products, suggest complementary products, and provide information on product availability. 
  • Stock Management: Will take an active part in stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels to keep the store looking full and appealing.  
  • Visual Merchandising: Will assist in ensuring that the store looks attractive and appeals to customers. This includes setting up displays, arranging products in an eye-catching manner, and keeping the store clean and tidy. 
  • Sales: Assist with the sales and the processing of transactions for the resort. This is to assist the intern with experiences related to guest services, money handling, multi-tasking, and potential complaints. 
  • Resort Administration: Retail interns will learn about what it takes to be the face of the resort. Phone Etiquette is the first impression that is offered to the guest. Being able to sell the resort, upsell bear appearances and answer any questions that a guest may have. Here you will learn about reservations and scheduling of bear visits or birthday parties. 
  • Learning and Development: The primary goal of a retail intern is to learn about the retail industry and gain practical experience.  
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth guest experiences. 
  • Handle guest complaints or issues and escalate them to the appropriate person as necessary. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Guest Services Manager. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled in a business or hospitality program or related program. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment. 
  • Professional demeanor and appearance. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Basic computer skills. 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
