Job Description:

  1. Grades K-5

  2. Special Education Position-Self-Contained

  3. Assessment and Individualized Education Program (IEP) Development:

    • Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths and challenges.
    • Collaborate with other professionals, such as psychologists and speech therapists, to gather relevant information.
    • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student based on their unique needs.
  4. Instructional Planning and Delivery:

    • Design and implement instructional strategies that accommodate the diverse learning styles and abilities of students with special needs.
    • Modify or adapt curriculum materials to meet individual student needs.
    • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and promote learning.
  5. Classroom Management:

    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all students.
    • Implement behavior management strategies and interventions.
    • Establish and communicate clear expectations for behavior.
  6. Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a coordinated and cohesive approach to student support.
    • Attend and actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
    • Work with other professionals to address the unique needs of each student.
  7. Progress Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Regularly assess and monitor students' progress towards their IEP goals.
    • Provide ongoing feedback to students, parents, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Adjust instructional strategies and interventions based on ongoing assessment data.
  8. Professional Development:

    • Stay current with developments in special education and educational practices.
    • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.
  9. Advocacy:

    • Advocate for the rights and needs of students with special needs.
    • Work to ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations and support services.
  10. Record Keeping and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided.
    • Complete required documentation for IEPs, assessments, and other special education processes.
  11. Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must posses Professional Educator's License.
  • Must posses LBS1
  • Passign Score from the ILTS.
  • Student teaching or internship experience.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.
  • ProCare and Illinois fingerprints.

Interview Process

  • 1015-minute screening call with a ProCare Recruiter
  • 20-30 minute virtual/in-person interview with school district
  • Offer is typically within 24 hours of virtual interview

As a ProCare employee, you will be paid on a weekly basis through direct deposit. Your hourly rate will be dependent upon your experience and education.
