Job Description
This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Family Ministries Manager supports the Family Ministry Director in the development and execution of the Family Ministry content, programs, and summer staff management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational and logistical support of Family Ministry programs for summer and non-summer months
  • Work with all operations teams to plan, organize, and execute Family Ministries programs.
  • Work with all operations teams to develop training for full time and summer staff for effective ministry and execution in Family Ministries programs.
  • Manage assigned summer camp ministry staff.
  • Develop and enforce childcare standards which create the safest and most effective ministry environments possible.
  • Provide organization with current up-to-date research on the culture of our campers, their families, and the direction of ministry in our target areas.
  • Study and understand what is cutting edge and most effective in current ministry practices.
  • Develop, lead, and carry out recruiting efforts for summer ministry teams at ALL camp locations. Coordinate hiring process with HR and Camp Ministry Recruiting teams.
  • Oversee Parent Child and Family Camp Weekends. Work with ministry team leaders and partners to develop and execute weekend camp programs for camper/family ministry. Produce follow up content that involves uninvolved parents or equips actively involved parents in the process of evangelizing and discipling of their kids.
  • Serve in a leadership role over either programming or staff.
  • Manage summer staff assigned to them.
  • Summer staff training.
  • Summer staff spiritual development.
  • Plan and execute weekend camp programs for Family Ministries.
  • Produce yearly content for Family Ministries.
  • Produce content for yearlong camper investment for all phases through the blogs.
  • Study and understand what is cutting edge and most effective in current ministry practices.
  • Develop effective delivery methods for Parent Child and Family Camp Weekends. Includes camp programs, media support, written materials, etc.
  • Develop effective delivery methods for LifeMap content. Includes camp programs, media support, written materials, etc.
  • Minister to our campers, their families, and our staff through teaching ministries.
  • Minister to our campers, their families, and our staff through the written word and creative communications.
  • Support in the sales and marketing of camps
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure that our campers and camper parents experience the WOW Factor and are served in such a manner that reflects our desire to serve them, our appreciation of them and satisfactorily meet their needs and expectations.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain compliance with Sky Ranchs employee policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION
  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE
  • Two to four years of related experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Ministry safe/Child advocacy

KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Basic internet and social media skills.

  • Excellent leadership skills necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to guests (youth and families), clergy and staff of various Christian churches and organizations of all sizes, cultural identities and worship styles, co-workers and peers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills. Ability to plan, manage, and report budgets proficiently. Exceptional financial management skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic and logistical planning and facilitate meetings, conferences, workshops, and/or retreats as required.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to exercise independent thinking and initiative.
  • Excellent, professional written communication skills. Ability to speak clearly in face to face interactions; to articulate with accuracy on the telephone and through e-mail. Excellent listening skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Some physical effort required. Ability to use up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. During summer months, ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.
  • Requires constant physical agility during the summer months, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Works indoors in normal office environment about 8 months of the year; works indoors and outdoors the other time, exposed to the seasonal weather elements of Colorado.
  • Limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight stays including weekends.
  • Must also be willing to move to Colorado for the summer position and live in the lodging available.
  • Shared housing on road and at camp.
