HOST JOB DESCRIPTION
- JOB TITLE: Host
- REPORTS TO: Service Manager
- PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The primary objective of the host is to greet and seat guests in a timely and professional manner - setting the initial tone for a positive dining experience. Hosts are also responsible for answering the phone, taking carryout orders, and assisting guests with the door when getting ready to leave.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greeting people in a friendly and professional manner
- Seating servers sections in a balanced way, following rotation when possible
- Guiding guests to their table and letting them know who will be taking care of them
- Being aware of what tables are available inside and outside and plotting future seating assignments
- Using the waitlist effectively
- Light bussing & cleaning of tables
- Assisting in keeping the dining room clean
- Communicate with other hosts, servers and managers
- Answering phones & taking carryout orders
- Thanking the guest for dining with us and wishing warm farewell
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

- Customer Service and People Skills
- Organizational Skills
- Ability to Remain Calm, Friendly, & Enthusiastic Under Pressure

- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have reliable means of transportation
- Must have the ability to stand on feet for up to 6 hours per shift
- Ability to lift some heavy heavy items may be involved
