Metro Services is looking to immediately hire Polishing Operators for a Manufacturing facility in Pell City, AL. This is a temp/contract local position. Apply Now!
Duties for this position include:
- Monitor machine operations and production flow, while being able to recognize defective parts
- Monitor production flow
- Material handling functions as required
- Verify the quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery
- Mark defects for possible rework
- Track parts and scrap
- Record product and processing data on specified forms when needed
- Assist in minor repair and maintain equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools
- Conduct routine TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) on Polish equipment
- Change polishing wheel when needed (Buff rotations & buff changes)
- Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices
- Utilize aspects of 5-S and Lock Out – Tag Out (LOTO) as required
- Perform cleaning of machines, stations, and work areas
- Polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools as needed
- Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools when needed
- Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure polishing standards are met
- Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during polishing processes
- Remove completed workpieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place workpieces in containers
- Select abrasives and/or pastes, according to materials, sizes, and shapes of workpieces, amount of stock to be removed, finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes
Compensation (USD):
1st Shift
$16.50/hour
2nd & 3rd Shift
$17.25/hour
Schedule:
1st Shift
Monday - Friday
OT on Saturday and Sunday if needed
6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
2nd Shift
Monday - Friday
OT on Saturday and Sunday if needed
2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
3rd Shift
Sunday - Thursday
OT on Friday and Saturday when needed
10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Clean Drug Screen/Background
- PPE (steel toe boots/shoes, safety glasses, and some positions require hearing protection)
