Job Description

Quality Assurance Representative (SCA)

At General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) we put our Customers at the center of everything we do. We are looking for passionate individuals to help us deliver innovative, unique solutions to our Customers in support of the M-SHORAD program.

The selected candidate will be a member of the GDLS JBLM team and part of the QA team.

Position Responsibilities:

Conduct De-processing of the Army's Stryker's associated equipment and equipment modifications/installations at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA under USG supervision.

Conduct quality checks of vehicles in accordance with the vehicles technical manual.

Perform maintenance on Stryker platform and associated equipment.

Assist team members regarding problems within technical areas as required.

Perform De-processing that encompasses vehicle familiarization: safe operations, to include PMCS (Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services), operation of each crew station, and knowledge of organizational maintenance procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Provide assistance to USG personnel as directed.

Actively engaged in promoting a workplace free from environmental health and safety related hazards including the training and ensuring proper use of personnel protective equipment as deemed appropriate.

Willingness to support all GDLS policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

Ensure quality standards and configuration tasks are performed in accordance with section work instructions to meet customer requirements.

Respond to customer complaints (reports of discrepancy), inquires (location checks for quality) and audit requirements with appropriate sense of urgency and business criticality.

Recommends and implements modifications of existing quality standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of material capability.

Audit quality system for all deficiencies to ensure conformance.

Must have the ability to mentor and advise entry level QA personnel.

Ability to identify Stryker related material and have working knowledge of the vehicle and the location of the parts.

Perform quality control inspections with performance based on Standard Practices, FOIs and safety of use messages.

Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

Ability to conduct product/process audits and track non-conformance incidents and initiate corrective action to resolve systemic and/or quality related issues.

Ensure quality standards and configuration tasks are performed in accordance with Business Unit objectives to meet customer requirements.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.

Extensive knowledge of ISO applications and procedures.

Occasional work in confined space within vehicle interior.

Work in improved and unimproved maintenance facilities as well as field environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and organize/prioritize multiple tasks.

Must be able to foster and enhance teaming environment

Working knowledge with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Lotus Notes preferred

Proven ability to perform multiple tasks within multiple work stations.

Demonstrated good housekeeping skills and ability to convey such practices to team members.

Ability to work extensive extended hours in a fast paced, challenging, high pressure environment.

Must be able to gain and maintain access to Joint Base Lewis McChord and other military bases assigned to.

Must meet and maintain ASR guidelines for driver's station entry as described in Standard Practice 2-644

Ability to maintain US Passport required

Ability to be issued and maintain company AMEX card required

Ability to deploy where and when needed to support fielding missions CONUS and OCONUS as required.

Position Hourly Rate: $35.34

Position Incentive: Hired applicant may be eligible to receive an annual bonus.

Benefits Offered: Employees and their eligible dependents are offered medical, dental, vision, life and accident insurance plans, disability insurance plans, health spending account, flexible spending account, 401(k) retirement plan and tuition reimbursement. Employees may be eligible for the SCA Health & Welfare Benefit hourly rate, which will vary, based on the employees choice of benefit elections. The SCA Health & Welfare Benefit hourly rate ranges from $0.00 to $4.41.

Employees are also eligible to receive 6.66 hours of vacation per month, 56 hours of sick time per year and 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
