Job Description
Position Objective:
To sell, manufacture, inspect and deliver agronomy and related products in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.
Position Responsibilities:
The fertilizer/agronomy plant attendant responsibilities involve plant and warehouse operations, deliveries, sales and service, maintenance and safety, and other duties as assigned by management.
The fertilizer/agronomy plant attendant will maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Agronomy plant and warehouse operations involve operating the plant and warehouse efficiently
- Assist with the assigned mix schedule and prepare mix to specifications on a timely basis
- Account for each mix or other service by writing job, sales, or transfer ticket to ensure accurate inventory control
- Report inventory items which need to be ordered to the Agronomy Location Manager
- Ensuring sales tickets are made out prior to loading a delivery, delivering product to specified locations, inspect all products as they are loaded and unloaded, verify that all items listed on the work order or sales ticket are loaded and delivered, and delivering product efficiently to the producer
- Provide the customer with an accurate sales ticket and collect payment if needed, if the customer has pre-pay specify with the Agronomy Office Manager
- Providing exceptional customer service to the Patrons, assist patrons with loading product, respond to all customer complaints with the Agronomy Location Manager as needed
- Complete paper work as required
- Maintain clean equipment and facilities at all times
- Report any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately
- Establish & maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events
- Uphold all cooperative policies and ensure that all facilities and equipment meet all federal, state, and OSHA regulations
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to work extended hours when needed
- Forklift certified
- Previous Agronomy experience
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
- The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist or lift/move objects up to 50 lbs. The employee may be required to climb or be at elevated heights to load trucks or complete miscellaneous job duties. Ability to operate forklift, sprayers, tractors and other machinery is required
