Job Description
Responsible for the implementation and management of the SQF level II systems, Food Safety and Quality programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develops, implements, communicates and maintains a Food Safety/Quality plan to ensure the Company’s processes meet established requirements.
  2. Monitors and audits programs for effectiveness.
  3. Maintains product consistency throughout product life cycle to include the design, define and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing.
  4. Manages quality assurance metrics for performance improvement of all teams.
  5. Anticipates product release delays and takes corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments.
  6. Responsible for establishing the Quality system and processes including Microbiology and Analytical testing.
  7. Investigates customer complaints and analyzes customer feedback to improve the quality and performance of the organization.
  8. Understands to a high level all operational phases of the company to better implement new programs and manage all process controls effectively.
  9. Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  10. Establishes, monitors, manages and ensures compliance of operation guidelines for the Sanitation process.
  11. Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
  12. Provide food safety leadership in the plant by interacting and working closely with other departments.
  13. Interacts with federal, state, and local regulatory officials during regulatory inspections.
  14. Respond to customer’s correspondence concerning quality issues.
  15. Monitor and maintain procedures and documentation for product recall and tracking.
  16. Monitor Sanitation performance and ensure effectiveness.
  17. Train and reinforce that GMP, HACCP, Food safety, Food security, Safety rules and company policies and procedures are followed.
  18. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable employment laws.
  19. Responsible for interviewing, and hiring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; assigning and reviewing work schedules, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  20. Supervising technical, laboratory staff and janitorial employees.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  1. Bachelor of Science in biochemistry, nutrition, food, dairy, animal, biology, bacteriology, molecular biology or microbiology or a related engineering field.
  2. Five plus years' experience as a Quality Manager in a Cheese/Dairy manufacturing plant.
  3. Experience in SQF system implementation and management.
  4. Strong Microbiology testing and data analysis experience.
  5. Must possess computer skills, to include Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Outlook, and have the ability to learn other internal computer programs.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish, preferred.
