Internal Medicine Physician : Part Time- must reside in CA

The Role

As the Internal Medicine Physician at Alsana, you will oversee the clinical side of Alsana. He or she will complete an initial History and Physical on admission. The clinician will review all labs, ekg and manage medicines outside of the mental health arena. Diabetes will be under the care of the physician.

• Our medical doctors must meet with our new admissions within 24 hours.
• Encouraged to meet with clients once per week.
• The physician should acknowledge any emergencies the nursing staff may need on a prn basis.
• The clinician may communicate via phone, text, email and document the management in Aura (EMR).
• The clinician is responsible for reviewing the client charts and labs as needed.
• The clinician is not involved in treatment team meeting and/or managing the mental health of the client.

Schedule

The Internist will coordinate with onsite staff to see new Admits within 24 hours and encourage them to meet with clients once per week. The onsite team will coordinate time onsite per the availability of the Internist, within reason, otherwise virtual visits.

Santa Barbara, Westlake Village, Flora site; Monterey RTC.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of medicine; MD or DO degree and completed an IM residency
• Licensed to practice medicine in the state of hire and must be ABMS certified
• 4+ years of experience in the delivery of mental health treatment and clinical administration; preferred
• Must possess knowledge of milieu management, client dynamics, individual and family treatment, and biological aspects of psychological illness

Pay structure: Monthly stipend plus per unit rate for Initial visits and follow-up.
