Safety / QA/QC / Tooling Supervisor

Salary: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 DOE

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: This position ensures that the work produced by welders and coaters meets specifications for quality, safety, and deadline specifications.

1. Develops policies and procedures with FIELD/SHOP Managers to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.

2. Helps manages all company welding/coating procedures and welder/coater qualification records.

3. Works closely with HR, FIELD/SHOP managers, engineering, fabrication, coatings and erection to determine constructability and best practices.

4. Develop and implement measures to assure quality control and quality assurance.

5. Provide welding/coating education and training in various welding/coating processes and applications.

6. Ensure all welding/coating related tasks that are being done are as per safety regulations and set standards.

7. Develop and implement industry safety standards with safety department.

8. Site contact for any and all safety needs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has little supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.  

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. 

 

**Required Education and Experience**

1. High school diploma or GED

2. AWS / CWI

3. NACE III CERTIFICATION

4. Advanced knowledge of the welding/coating procedures and processes.

5. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of experience

6. OSHA 10, 30, 510
