Must possess a Missouri Class "D" Water Treatment Certificate of Competency or similar state certification for this position.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Plant Operator I Water Treatment position is responsible for performing the operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment plants, groundwater wells, and water towers; effectively performs the activities of a skilled plant operator, which necessitates a general knowledge of different specialized skills. Duties include performing tasks and operations at water treatment facilities as instructed by supervision and lead operator positions. This position works under the direct supervision of a Division Supervisor or Division Manager and reports indirectly to the Assistant Director and the Director of Utilities.

WORK LOCATION: In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; This position requireswork to be performed onsite.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

A high school graduate or GED equivalent is required.
Possession of a Missouri Class "D" Water Treatment Certificate of Competency or equivalent from another State is required.
Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
One (1) year of experience in performing water treatment operations and maintenance, water distribution sampling, water analysis, mechanical maintenance and, repair or closely related work is preferred.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with Utility leadership in achieving those goals.
Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers.
Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
Must be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to have operations 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work.
Must be able to pass a background investigation, physical capability examination, and drug and alcohol screenings.
