Tooth & Nail Wine Company is seeking a Director of DTC and Hospitality to steer its innovative customer relations experience, to include the tasting room, wine club and eCommerce sales program all based at our Tooth & Nail Winery in Paso Robles, California.

 

The Director of DTC and Hospitality will implement the highest levels of imagination, service, and professionalism across the entire guest environment in order to advance Tooth & Nail Wine Company’s reputation as a revolutionary force in the world of wine. In doing so, the Director of DTC and Hospitality will be charged with growing a following of loyal customers who are passionate about our brands and wholly invested in what we do. The Director of DTC and Hospitality will understand that we are pursuing a singular and holistic brand experience that encompasses our place, people, wines, labels, vineyards, guests, and members.

Responsibilities

 

·       Lead the multifaceted hospitality operation at the Tooth & Nail Winery in Paso Robles.

 

·       Oversee department managers including the tasting room, wine club, events, and food & beverage. Develop a culture of trust, honesty, accountability, collaboration, and interpersonal respect among all hospitality team members.

 

·       Foster an experiential guest environment that is always “brand on” to Tooth & Nail Wine Company. Implement staff training to ensure that the brand experience is seamless across all departments. Understand that we want to be renowned for our service and hospitality as much as our place and our wines.

 

·       Grow wine club membership, tasting room sales, customer retention and consumer engagement by providing an unparalleled and imaginative guest experience. Motivate and train our front line employees to embrace our hospitality mantra, “We are here for our guests.” Build a team that is excited about providing a superior experience across all customer touch points.

 

·       Maximize public and private event revenues and elevate the on-site culinary offerings.

 

·       Oversee the marketing of all DTC activities: tasting room, wine club, public events, and private events. Maintain a marketing and advertising plan that drives awareness, traffic, and growth.

 

·       Set and execute sales and efficiency goals; grow club membership; and oversee all aspects of our hospitality operations, including reporting on revenues, profit and loss, sales volumes, club memberships, and operating expense budgets.

 

·       Implement effective budgeting, purchasing programs and inventory control in order to streamline labor and operating expenses. Develop short and long-term strategies for revenue growth.

 

 

Qualifications & Attributes

 

·       The ideal candidate will have 8 or more years of proven hospitality experience as a general manager or director with oversight over multiple departments. Hotel management or related high-level hospitality experience is a distinct advantage.

 

·       A can-do attitude is essential. This position is about having a vision, taking ownership, and making it happen.

 

·       Must be proficient in accounting, budgeting, cost control, merchandising and labor law. Analytical Excel-based data experience required. Demonstrated attention to detail is critical.

 

·       Leadership skills – Leads by example and takes ownership of failures as well as successes. Earns respect through own personal behavior and by maintaining professional standards in all situations.

 

·       Communication – Must possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Speaks comfortably in group settings, effectively leads meetings, and maintains composure at all times. Exhibits a professional appearance.

 

·       Flexibility – Demonstrates an ability to adjust, adapt and execute amid a fast-moving and sometimes challenging environment.

 

·       Guest relationships – Loves to interact with guests and is genuinely interested in enriching their lives. Continuously finds new ways to evolve the guest experience and create meaningful delights that keep them coming back for more.   

 

·       Results – Operates with a result-driven mindset. Inspires all team members to maximize their potential and performance.
