About this job

Objective:
The primary responsibility for the Program Planner is to monitor the health of a program and aid in the procurement and manufacturing of components necessary for the assembly of finished products. This position will provide a single focal for Program Management on all supply chain activities related to a specific program which includes serial production and aftermarket support. This position will work in conjunction with and drive demand planning, backshop planning, procurement, ECN implementation, and final assembly line to ensure on time delivery, based on a master production schedule. The Program Planner will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain Planning and will have the ability provide additional support to material procurement and production activities. The position is responsible for successfully delivery a program to the customer and may be required to assist in PO management, Sales Order Management, and Work Order Management. The position works under minimal supervision and is authorized to make proposed changes to the supply chain activities in the IPT.

Authorities: Program planner as autonomy and decision-making authority. Expected to use their expertise to make informed decisions regarding material availability for HOV programs, identifying improvements for material availability for production, and resolving complex supply issues. They may also collaborate with other teams or departments to implement supply solutions.

Main Function Responsibilities:
A. Responsible for the on-time execution of all Supply Chain and Planning tasks for assigned program.
B. Coordinate, drive, and track all supply chain functions including material availability and On Time Delivery.
C. Assist the 'Critical Change Board' (CCB) process by ensuring all materials delivering from suppliers and from the backshops are at the latest design revision, reducing the risk of installing out of revision parts.
D. Track the progress of the shortages coming from the production line and align what is being reported in the MRP system.
E. Communicate schedules and milestones for the program to the various Materials functional groups.
F. Ensure all parts are available to production when needed (internal and external).
G. Coordinate communications between Purchasing, Planning, and Engineering to ensure the program has the greatest chance of success.
H. Attend program review meetings and provide input for material sourcing and capabilities of Safran suppliers.
I. Maintain accurate demand dates including the scheduling of final assembly work orders and sales orders for the program.
J. Attend all IPT and program specific meetings.
K. Support purchasing agents with PO management and material expediting requests to support Program milestones.
L. Support and drive planning activities to align with program milestones.
M. Focal for communicating various supply chain issues back to the IPT.

Travel specifictity
International and/or Domestic travel required; 5% or less

Additional description
N. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide seamless customer service.
O. Prepare required reports using ERP system, as requested by management. Ability to access relevant information from the ERP system in order to produce required reports.
P. Manage and report part shortages using a company wide MRP based, Excel document.
Q. All other duties as assigned.

Candidate skills & requirements
Qualification Requirements:
A. Education & Qualification
• B.S degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related field OR 6 years of relevant/related experience in lieu of degree
• CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CPIM certification from APICS, preferred

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge
• Five (5) years procurement/supply chain/planning background in manufacturing environment required. Knowledge of industry suppliers, product(s), and manufacturing capabilities required. Aerospace industry knowledge preferred. Previous program management experience preferred.

C. Professional Skills
• Computer Skill: Basic understanding of Windows Operating System®, Microsoft Excel.
• Other Skills: Demand Forecasting Software knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with basic forecasting models and rates of consumption models is preferred.
• Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Must have experience using computer programs in Windows/Office applications such as Excel spreadsheets, Word, Power Point, and email.
• Flexible to customer changes, urgencies, and make good decisions under pressure, also able to work reasonable over time when required.
• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
• Ability to read and review written communication.
• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
• Advanced understanding of planning tools and ERP Systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail

D. Behavioral Skills
• Organized and detailed oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and training skills.

E. Desirable Aspects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Database Reporting a plus.
