The Community Living Coach, also known as Direct Support Person (DSP), supports those with developmental, intellectual, psychiatric and other disabilities. Community Living Coach/DSP encourages individuals to explore what they want out of life and to chart their own journeys. The goal is to assist the person to lead a full and active life within the community. This role is under the direction of the Community Housing Coordinator.

• Implements selected aspects of the consumer centered plans with focus on skills training in the areas of basic survival and daily independent living skills.
• Promotes and provides activities that develop social and leisure skills within the home environment and through linkage with external community resources.
• Develops a respectful helping and supportive relationship with each consumer to promote recovery and reintegration into the mainstream of community living.

Our minimum requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, valid driver license, driving history that meets company's insurability and reliable transportation. Direct Support Professional (DSP), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) or similar experience a plus!

Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification after hired along with successfully passing the Direct Support Person (DSP) credential and Medication training program. If licensed, required to maintain license requirements. Employment with Bridgeway is conditional upon completion of all governing required background checks.

For mental health residential settings, minimum requirement will include minimum of age 21yrs and meet the DMH credentialing requirements of a RSA to work in mental health residential settings. Does not apply to DD/ID settings.
