CLOSE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH: PHYSICIANS, HOSPITAL/CLINIC NURSING STAFF, BUSINESS OFFICE STAFF, MEDICAL RECORDS, HOSPITAL/CLINIC PATIENTS, LABORATORY/XRAY STAFF

JOB SUMMARY:

Patient access Rep will be expected to adapt to the needs of the schedule for patient registration(s), whether it be within Hospital or Clinic setting. Patient Access Rep will be responsible for answering phone calls, gathering information, and then transcribing the information into the computer system. This role will need to have ability to review insurance and demographic information on patients, as well as computer skills to submit the gathered information into appropriate allocated computer system software(s). Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to, insurance verification, pre-certification, referrals, second opinion management, insurance assignments, workers compensation authorizations, billing, exceptional customer service, scheduling and/or miscellaneous office duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Proficiently be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to work effectively as a team member.
  • Must be able to work with frequent interruptions, maintaining a high degree of concentration.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Possess problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn EPIC EMR software program.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and demonstrating empathy.
  • Excellent time management of one’s own time and time of others.
  • Ability to participate and self-educate for job related needs.
  • Ability to perform tasks via phone and computer systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Possess the ability to actively listen, be adaptive and patient.
  • Must possess good hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Post-secondary education, training, and/or certificate in Business, Healthcare Administration, Medical Receptionist and/or related degree (preferred).
  • Experience with EPIC EMR software program (preferred).
  • 1 year customer service experience.
  • 1-2 years customer service experience in healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Must pass MN background check, accompanied with finger printing.
  • Complete TB test within the first 2 weeks of employment.

JOB SCHEUDLE/LOCATION(S):

  • Hallock, MN or Karlstad, MN
  • Shifts are subject to change and will be scheduled either 1st, 2nd, or 3rdshift
    1. 7:30am-4:00pm
    2. 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Healthcare settings include but are not limited to: Hospital, Ambulance, Clinic, Nursing Home, Lab, Radiology, therapy, inpatient/outpatient procedures and Business Office.
