The role you will play
- Participates in professional development and life long learning
- Performs an expanded perioperative role as a first assistant to cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgeons during surgical procedures in the Cardiothoracic operating room (CTOR)
- Functions as a member of the cardiothoracic surgical team and contributes to the overall efficiency of the peri-operative department
- Provides First Assistant support in complex cardiac cases and procedures including, but not limited to: cardiac bypass surgery, aortic-valve surgery, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transplants, assist devices. Additionally, responsible for harvesting vessel for bypass procedures (open and endovascular techniques)..
- Monitors patients response and modifies plan of care accordingly
- RNFA – Cardiac (open heart)
- Shift: 4-10's, rotating day off
- Call: Weekday 1 every 2 weeks, Weekend 1 every 8 weeks
