Summary:
Supervise activities of the Production department, in assigned building, to process materials and/or manufacture products within the Company. Responsible to uphold Company quality and safety standards while meeting all order needs in a timely fashion. Support optimization of production capabilities and labor usage within assigned building of products, across all equipment.
Primary Duties:
- Recommend improvements in quality and maintenance procedures, policies, and/or methods within the manufacturing process
- Increase productivity through improvement of existing machinery, revised methods or packaging, or other means – working with Production and Marketing to achieve within regulatory requirement scope
- Reduce all possible forms of waste within the respected supervisor building.
- Support/monitor timing of raw material inventory needs with Materials Supervisor and Inventory Supervisor
- Participate in Production planning, and review production schedule daily to ascertain priorities based on customer demand. Communicate changes in need to Inventory/Materials Management, Planner, and/or Operations Manager
- Review operating reports and help resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
- Supervise packaging production crew, in support of Shift Managers
Essential Duties:
- Safety improvements, safety training, and safety reporting in compliance with EHS standards
- Ensure all employees are properly trained in use of equipment and raw materials handling to meet safety compliance and processes
- Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards
- Ensure all Quality manufacturing processes are followed, and employees are trained in proper procedures for assigned tasks within respective building
- Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by shift manager and Operations manager
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing and quality control environment
- Previous knowledge and operation of an inventory control, financial, quality management and/or human capital systems
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
