Job Description
The Bryan County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for a full-time Equipment Operator Class A in our Public Works Department.

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Operates a lowboy tractor and trailer to move equipment, dump trucks, and one or more of the following pieces of heavy equipment: motor-grader, bulldozer, track-excavator, rubber-tired excavator.

Inspects and prepares equipment for safe and proper operation.

May be tasked to operate other equipment such as: backhoe, track front-end loaders, pot hole patcher and other similar equipment to contribute to the completion of assigned public works operations.

Performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor including picking up paper, limbs, and other debris from roadways; operating chain saw; and other similar tasks

Punctuality and attendance are essential.

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; two years of experience in heavy equipment operation or a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL Driver’s License.
