Overview: As a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic for MERRILL, you will be responsible for keeping facilities, machinery, and mechanical equipment in good working order as part of a the facilities maintenance team in a welding, fabrication, and machining environment. This position is open to candidates of all skill levels, who will be evaluated based on their relevant training and experience to determine what role they would be best suited for within the organization.

Job Functions:
  • Installation, maintenance, and mechanical repair of production equipment and production facility
  • Develops and enhances maintenance methods and procedures
  • Will work with other groups and individuals to promote a team environment
  • Maintains documentation, such as test histories and ensure they are complete and up to date
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting on equipment or the facility and supports scheduling any outside vendors
  • Ensure that all work performed is done with safety being our number one goal


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of technical training and one (1) year related work experience.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing equipment which includes mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining, welding, and electrical maintenance
  • Ability to communicate, organized, self-motived, and team player skills
  • Candidates with 2 or more years of technical training and 3 or more years of related work experience will be considered for higher-level roles


Level I candidates will typically be expected to work under and assist more experienced maintenance mechanics.

At level II, candidates will be expected to be able to work independently to diagnose, troubleshoot, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, and reassemble machines, and may provide training to less experienced mechanics, communicate effectively with machine manufacturers and support technicians, and occasionally make replacement parts.

At level III, a candidate is expected to have experienced with 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC Machines, preferably a thorough understanding of diversified electrical and mechanical repair, project management and team leadership experience, excellent communication, and have a sense of urgency and understanding that quality equipment is necessary to create quality parts and meet production goals.
