Schedule:

Standard operating hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Part-Time OR Full-Time. Please note work hours may fluctuate depending on business needs, flexibility is required.

Job Summary:

At Mountain View Pace, our Registered Dieticians play a crucial role in providing nutrition care and education to Mountain View Pace Participants. Evaluate the Participant’s nutritional status, develop and implement nutritional care plans, and assess nutrient requirements. Recommend nutritional prescriptions and evaluate the Participant’s tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional care. Communicate nutritional data and information to physicians and other health professionals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs nutritional assessments as indicated by nutrition standards.
  • Provides nutrition education to Participants/caregivers as ordered by the physician and according to ADA standards.
  • Provides nutritional education to staff and the community.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to implement Participant education.
  • Conducts initial and periodic assessments.
  • Communicates Participant changes to team members.
  • Participates in the development of the IDT Plan of Care.
  • Participates in the coordination of a 24-hour care delivery.
  • Completes all documentation in the electronic medical records system as required.
  • Participate in and support Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of clinical dietetics is mandatory.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully and patiently with personnel, participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Able to teach, think analytically, and relate to geriatric patients.
  • Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department supervisors.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to organize work and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an ADA-accredited institution with a major in nutrition. Must be ADA registered.
  • One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to participate in extensive training as needed.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (Training Provided)

Requirements:

  • Requires valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Works inside the facility throughout the Participant and office areas.
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Must be alert for Participant’s safety.
  • Is subject to lifting, carrying, and supporting Participants.
  • May include occasional overnight travel for in-service training programs, etc.
