A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PHYSICAL THERAPIST

As a physical therapy professional in home health care, you play an essential role in providing our patients with high-quality services that are in accordance with their plan of care. You assist the physician in evaluating the level of functioning in each patient by providing initial and ongoing assessments. Keeping track of your patient's condition, you review their plan of care and apply the appropriate revisions. Using your exceptional communication skills, you coordinate services with other home health care staff members to ensure that patients are receiving well-rounded treatment. At times, you supervise physical therapy assistants and other home health aides as needed as well as evaluate our equipment to ensure optimal levels of functioning.

You provide all services in accordance with CMS documentation and billing requirements, including functional reassessment requirements. The safety of your patients is of the utmost importance to you, and you take great care to practice infection control by following universal precautions. You also actively recognize and report any forms of abuse according to policy as well as federal and state laws. When needed, you assist with orientation for new hires and participate in any training activities. Having a job that makes a direct positive impact in the lives of your patients brings you great satisfaction, which is why you excel in this physical therapy position!
