Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or group support to students with special needs in the classroom.
- Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional activities under the guidance of the special education teacher.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
- Assist students with daily tasks, including personal care, communication, and mobility.
- Collaborate with the teacher and other professionals to monitor student progress and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and behavior.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in a related field is requiredor Parapro Assessment completed.
- Prior experience working with individuals with special needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students' academic and social growth.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and meet any additional requirements set by the school or district.
