Core Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including
- month and end-year process
- accounts payable/receivable
- Job cost analysis to determine cost vs budget
- revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- Process/Send billings through Business Central
- trust account statement reconciliations
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Meet financial accounting objectives
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Role and Responsibilities
The primary role will be accounts payable and receivable for a select division. This person will work closely with the project managers to determine job status and process billings as well as close jobs in a timely manner. The role includes the following:
- Proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- Certifications preferred.
- Attention to detail; organizational skills; and time management skills are required.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Must work well both independently and as a team.
- Self-starter with proven ability to exceed goals.
- Willingness to learn additional skills required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Xactimate.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or other client relationship management software preferred.
- QB Desktop Enterprise experience preferred
- Construction experience is a plus (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Employees in this role must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day.
- This person must be able to carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work on a computer and stare at a monitor screen for long periods of time.
