Core Responsibilities

  1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including
  2. month and end-year process
  3. accounts payable/receivable
  4. Job cost analysis to determine cost vs budget
  5. revenue and expenditure variance analysis
  6. Process/Send billings through Business Central
  7. trust account statement reconciliations
  8. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  9. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  10. Coordinate and complete annual audits
  11. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  12. Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
  13. Meet financial accounting objectives
  14. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Role and Responsibilities

The primary role will be accounts payable and receivable for a select division. This person will work closely with the project managers to determine job status and process billings as well as close jobs in a timely manner. The role includes the following:

  • Proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • Certifications preferred.
  • Attention to detail; organizational skills; and time management skills are required.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Must work well both independently and as a team.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to exceed goals.
  • Willingness to learn additional skills required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Xactimate.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or other client relationship management software preferred.
  • QB Desktop Enterprise experience preferred
  • Construction experience is a plus (preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Employees in this role must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day.
  • This person must be able to carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work on a computer and stare at a monitor screen for long periods of time.
