Job Description

Performs routine maintenance and repairs in the areas of locksmith, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine and electrical services for 15 facilities. Provides storage and retrieval of facility department supplies, equipment, etc. Maintains upkeep of all credit union vehicles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Physically completes and/or coordinates preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, routine inspections including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, life safety, plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, transporting, furniture moves and or assembly, landscaping, irrigation repairs and pest control. Makes recommendations to management concerning repairs or additions.
  • Services credit union vehicles, supports onsite and offsite NCU construction, events, meetings, and planned moves.
  • Develops and maintains records and inventory lists that help track spending and repairs. Maintains key inventories for all locations.
  • Occasionally supports scheduled courier runs in company vehicle to include mail delivery, posting and delivering outgoing mail to post office, receiving and delivering packages, equipment, boxes, and furniture.
  • Maintains multiple storage areas for facility supplies and equipment.

  • Adheres to Neighborhood Credit Union’s WE CARE service standards.
  • Adheres to CU policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and projects Neighborhood Credit Union’s professional reputation and promotes our brand.
  • Maintenance problems are promptly identified and resolved with minimal disruption to staff.
  • Repairs are completed effectively, timely and within budgetary guidelines.
  • Accurate records and logs are maintained. Equipment is appropriately controlled and accounted for.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of related electrical and plumbing experience.

Required Knowledge:

  • Able to read technical reference manuals.
  • Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

Experience Required:

  • Three to five years of related experience.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate well with others.
  • Ability to prioritize, analyze and troubleshoot incidents.
  • Ability to use various hand tools.
  • Well organized and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Ability to operate related computer programs effectively.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

CLIMBING: Including ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.

STOOPING: Bending downward and forward at the waist. Requires full use of lower extremities and back muscles.

KNEELING: Resting on knee or knees.

CROUCHING: Bending downward and forward at the leg and spine.

REACHING: Extending hand (s) and arm (s) in any direction.

STANDING: For extended time periods.

WALKING: Especially for long distances.

PUSHING: Using upper body to press against something with steady force.

PULLING: Using upper body to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects.

LIFTING: Use of upper body and back muscles to lift objects.

GRASPING: Using fingers and palm on an object.

AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

FINE, ACUTE VISUAL ABILITIES: Fine visual acuity with the ability to inspect closely or to assemble small parts; color vision; or depth perception and/or field of vision.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Medium work; exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Worker is subject to changing inside and/or outside temperatures which may include extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees.)
  • Works both inside and outside; subject to weather.
  • Occasional local travel.
