Duties This role focuses on creating a culture of wellness to improve organizational health and well-being at the system-level and addressing the unique needs of health care professionals by improving the efficiency of the practice environment, improving elements of organizational culture and ensuring that physician wellbeing is considered as part of all key organizational decisions. This position will interact closely with executive leadership including CEO, chief nurse executive and clinical director, as well as department leaders. Position will also work in conjunction with parallel nursing position if relevant. Providing strategic vision, planning, and direction to the development, implementation and evaluation initiatives to improve health and well-being outcomes among health care staff/employees.Regularly monitoring and reporting outcomes, including measures of engagement, professional fulfillment, health and well-being, and tracking how they change with the introduction of interventions.Coordinating the Wellness Council (in conjunction with parallel nursing position if relevant).Identifying struggling work units and helping provide support, recommendations and tactics for these units to improve.Communicating the vision, why addressing the well-being of health care professionals is important to the organization's success.Ensuring a portfolio of resources individual health care professionals can use to cultivate personal wellbeing.Ensuring provision of system-wide safety net for individual health care professionals in distress.Ensuring training to help work-unit leaders effectively cultivate well-being in their departments.Assisting in advancing key qualities, such as equity in the organization, participatory leadership, collegiality, mutual respect and professionalism.Conducts regular assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress towards goals.Collaborates with other departments to integrate wellness into all aspects of the company culture.Monitors employee satisfaction with company wellness programs and making adjustments as needed.Incumbent services as an expert in providing emergency medical services for all patientsPerform other duties as assigned.**Note:This is an Open Continuous Announcement; applicants will be referred when vacancies occur. An internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, general practice, obstetrics-gynecology, and pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for internship training by a recognized body of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by a recognized body of the American Medical Association, (AMA) or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).A fellowship program involves advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medical specialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital or an institution accredited in the United States for such training.Additional Requirements for Grades GS-12 and AboveGS-15: 5 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training within the specialty area of Emergency Medicine.
