Job Title: Logistics Engineer
Location: Stanton, TN
We are hiring immediately for an Logistics Engineer in Stanton, TN. In this role you will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up. A strong candidate will have a background within the automotive and / or electronics manufacturing industry.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Support department cost reduction and business plan initiatives including development of total cost business cases, action plans and launch of new equipment and/or processes
- Manage new model planning databases such as MS Access & PFEP (plan for every part) including interface with packaging approval process (GPP)
- Act as single point of contact for MP&L
- Coordinating department study responses to plant / BME (Battery Manufacturing Engineering)
- Battery Manufacturing Engineering (BME) program studies / flow discussions / manpower planning
- Ensure all material handling (MH) equipment is delivered on time to support program timing
- Ensure all MH equipment, facilities and process comply with corporate safety and ergonomic guidelines.
- Ensure material flow and material layouts are optimized and support lean strategy
- Track and manage manufacturing support center (MSC) bid packs, scope changes, funding, cost reduction initiatives and forecasts
- Assess material handling labor utilization and identify actions to drive efficiency
- Update and manage CAD layout(s) for marketplace(s) and labor/material flow
- Lead packaging contact for facility, develop packaging and review supplier-owned packaging for compliance into battery manufacturing process(es).
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, such as Manufacturing, Process, or Industrial Engineering
- Computer Skills: CMMS, SMART, AutoCAD (Plant layout + Factory Flow), PFEP-Pro new model and current model data management system, MS Office Package (Access, Excel, Word, Power Point), WERS, PCAM, CPARS, AVBOM, simulation software, CATIA, Team Center, Project Management
- Effective verbal and written communication, presentation and meeting skills
- Financial aptitude to develop total cost analysis and write cost savings projects
- Project management skills – create and maintain open issues lists, master schedules, lead cross functional teams, issue resolution, financial tracking and management of program fund spending and equipment procurement
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- React well under pressure and be able to work under crisis management
- Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability
- Candidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phase
- Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
- Practical working knowledge of Ford production part number & naming nomenclature, manufacturing and assembly plant processes
