PT LIFEGUARD
Pay Rate: $14.50 Per Hr.
GEOTEMPS, INC. is currently looking for a LIFEGUARD for our valued client in Morenci, Arizona. This individual must have a commitment to teamwork, safety and following policy and protocol. This opportunity is best suited for an individual who is comfortable as a lifeguard and performing public safety work in preventing injuries in the municipal pool facility.
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Duties include preventing accidents, effectively enforcing pool rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Constant observance of patrons.
- Enforcement of safety rules and regulations.
- Administration of first aid and / or artificial resuscitation.
- Eliminate or minimize hazards.
- Responsible for completion of pool deck work.
- May assist in conducting special swimming classes and activities.
- Handling all patron and pool problems in an efficient and proper manner.
- Be able to function as part of an effective crew.
- Acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in an event of emergency.
- Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Open the pool each day and close it down every evening.
- Monitor pool related activities.
- Monitor weather reports closely to ensure guests safety.
- Organize and oversee pool parties.
- Communicate any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to the supervisor.
MININUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Current certification as Lifeguard by recognized source of training.
- CPR Certified
- Less than high school with 6 months to 1-year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- First Aid certificate is preferred
REQUIRED:
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Skill in applications of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Flexible schedule
- Must pass a drug/alcohol screening
- Background and reference check
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, climb, lift, pull, and swim while in swimwear.
- Must be able to lift 75lbs.
- Must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction.
- Must have stamina to work long hours and overtime.
- Must be able to hold breath for a decent amount of time.
