Estimator

Abacus is looking for an Estimator in the Easton, MD area. 

Objective
                Drafting plans for custom homes, additions and renovations. Communicates with supervisors, suppliers and subcontractors concerning current and pending projects. Handles all permits in coordination with proper town, county and state agencies.
Essential Functions

• Estimating jobs
• Communication with Job Supervisors during preconstruction and throughout building process, focusing on each job division
• Maintain communication with suppliers to keep up to date pricing and current, relevant products
• Review projects with subcontractors during preconstruction phase to revise quotes. Assist subcontractors with understanding of details and specifications

• Drafting
• Draw and review construction plans
• Review plans with President/Owner and Job Supervisors
• Create plan details for projects
• Measure existing houses for renovation work

• Permit Expeditor
• Gather appropriate forms/applications per county requirements. Complete all forms and applications
• Print correct number of plans and site plans for all governmental agencies to review
• Coordinate with engineers for site plan submittal and storm water management specifications, etc.
• Coordinate with Office Manager for availability of funds for permit fees
• Keep in regular contact with electrical, plumbing and mechanical subcontractors to submit their permits
• Daily contacts with local and/or county permit office for permit status and updates
• When permit is issued, give original to Job Supervisor and make copies to keep on file
