Are you ready to inspire and guide young minds in a fun and enriching summer camp experience? The YMCA in Custer is looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a Camp Coordinator! The schedule for this position 8:30 am 0 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.

As a Camp Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in providing a high-quality, safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate camp program that promotes soft skills like teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and creativity, along with character and academic enrichment.

Your key responsibilities as a Camp Coordinator include:

  1. Implementing an age-appropriate curriculum with a focus on safety and growth in social and physical skills.
  2. Providing mission-based, fun, age-appropriate, safe, and meaningful activities.
  3. Ensuring the safety and security of each child in your care.
  4. Maintaining the proper maintenance and use of equipment, supplies, and materials.
  5. Fully complying with YMCA safety policies and state and local codes.
  6. Developing and maintaining positive relations with parents.
  7. Connect with the staff at the site weekly to communicate information gained through Camp Coordinator meetings.
  8. Completing and filing lesson plans weekly.
  9. Accurately completing an incident/accident report for each incident/accident and submitting and reporting it in accordance with staff training.
  10. Maintaining neat and accurate attendance.
  11. Maintaining a file of all parent flyers, information sheets, and lesson plans.
  12. Connecting with YMCA members and program participants in a way that contributes to YMCA membership goals.
  13. Exhibiting positive character consistently with the YMCA mission.
  14. Doing whatever else is needed to further the YMCA movement.
