General Description:

Provides licensed pharmacist services to the patients/customers of Evara Health Pharmacy; providers functional supervision of pharmacy operations; assists Pharmacy Director in assuring that all pharmacy operations and activities comply with the directions of Evara Health and all Federal and State laws and regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides quality pharmaceutical care to patients/customers
    • Fills prescriptions accurately and efficiently using a computerized pharmacy system o Reviews/Verifies medications accurately prior to dispensing
    • Monitors and verifies patient medication regimens when possible
    • Counsels patients on medication drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper storage
    • Works with other medical providers providing consultation for specific disease states as needed o Follows up and answers questions from medical staff in a timely fashion
    • Timely and accurately records relevant information in electronic health record
  • Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of regulatory laws and practices in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations by performing strict record keeping to include:
    • Participates in the recording, maintenance and production of all required daily and monthly logs and reports
    • Monitors and runs monthly inventory reports as needed
    • Monitors and reports all outdated pharmaceuticals as needed o Monitors pharmaceutical recalls and follows procedures
    • Logs in controlled substance orders and maintains accurate count in perpetual inventory and computer software
    • Ensures Class II drugs dispensed are double counted and immediately logged into the perpetual inventory binder
    • Ensures the counts of Class II drugs dispensed are correct before the end of the shift
    • Assists in maintaining proper audit trail for processed prescriptions, including daily and monthly reports. Generates additional reports as requested
  • Supervises pharmacy technicians, assistants, and interns
    • Ensures refrigerator temperatures are recorded, expired medications are checked and removed, and technicians have completed required tasks
  • Maintains an awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into practice
    • Maintains knowledge of loss of prevention techniques
    • Assists in teaching students, interns, and techniques o Maintains current unencumbered professional pharmacist license by the State of Florida
    • Completes required pharmacy continuing education for pharmacist license
  • Maintains good housekeeping practices by ensuring workspaces and surrounding areas are clean
  • Provides consultation to care team members as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and students as needed
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of the profession
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with patients
  • Knowledge of health care principles
  • Operational knowledge of pharmacologic system software
  • Ability to navigate and enter data into an electronic records system
  • BS in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred)
  • Preferred: At least 1 year experience
  • Current and unencumbered Pharmacist license in the state of Florida
  • Current BLS certification
