This role is in our Williamson, NY facility.

Starting hourly rate is $16.50 - $17 per hour (dependent on experience) with a shift differential of $0.75/hour for 2nd shift, & $1.50/hour for 3rd shift.


These are direct hire roles, eligible for our fantastic benefits package (see below) the first of the month following your start date.

Eligible candidates must have reliable transportation. The facilities are not on a bus route.



WHAT WE NEED

The Assistant Production Operator (APO) role is an entry-level position which supports the production process through a variety of activities. As part of our development process, this role will be trained on operation of our Production Lines. Support and adherence to our 5S environment is a key component to all our production roles.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Providing general support to Production Operators and Line Leaders for all production activities by performing a variety of functions as assigned including packing, stacking, bottle dumping and box making.
  • Work cross-functionally to support other departments, such as material handling, or processing, to keep lines supplied and running efficiently.
  • Verify proper labeling/codes are on cases/jars/jugs and complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Verify, against Fill Cards, that all materials being used in production are accurate.
  • Maintain GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards throughout facility and at machinery; adhere to all safety requirements.
  • May have the opportunity to be trained and certified in Forklift operation, to assist with Production support.
  • Clean, organize, perform rework, dumps bottles and other tasks associated with driving performance efficiency in the operation of the manufacturing environment.
  • This is the training role that leads to Production Operator roles in the organization.
  • Learn 5S standards and help to drive them throughout all assigned activities.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Required Education/Experience: No prior work experience is required.


Preferred Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Prior manufacturing and/or machine operation experience is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Continuous learning, and improvement, mindset is a must; there are many opportunities to learn and develop at BRF, but the individual needs to be motivated to engage in those opportunities.
  • Effectively read and understand the Fill Cards, which are written in the English language; complete associated paperwork and enter information into production systems.

  • Team player and constructive conflict management are key skills for success.

  • Work in a manufacturing environment, which includes fluctuation in heat, moisture, and noise.
  • Wear Food Manufacturing GMP Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, face mask, no facial piercings, false eyelashes or fake fingernails.
  • Language Ability: English fluency required to successfully speak, read, write, and comprehend directions in English and communicate with other employees in English as part of regular job duties.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to enter information in English into a computer system (RedZone and/or Tulip).
  • Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers with 10's and 100's.
  • Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.


At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, and is determined within a range.

The base pay range for this role is between $16.50 to $17.00 per hour. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
